The purpose of this lab was to become familiar with how a mixer works, and to build and test a mixer for use in the AM heterodyne radio.

First, we were instructed to build the circuit in figure 1. We were instructed to work with our partner since two function generators are required. We observed the output across the load on the oscilloscope and the frequency spectrum was viewed by pressing the Math Menu button and selecting operation 'FFT'.

Next, we added the RFC and added this circuit to the bandpass filter. We inspected the frequency spectrum and found the intermediate frequency to be 210 kHz. This was expected. We got caught up in the heat of the moment and did not get a picture for this lab.

In conclusion, we built and tested the mixer with the bandpass filter and got an intermediate frequency of 210 kHz. This was the expected results!
